My 10 year old asks for these every night to help him relax and go to sleep! Such a great way to get him to understand his body, listen and feel his breathing and to focus on a story that calms him down. I would recommend these stories to all ages
Absolutely LOVED reading the Wind story to my niece and nephew. I didn't know what to expect as they're always full of energy and bedtime without their parents can be hit and miss. But wow, what a treat to see them so engaged with the story and then so calm when I left the room, one was already asleep! My only feedback would be an option to purchase as a book as that would last longer than the printout. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the purchase. Thank you Medtime!
Such a gorgeous story to read at bedtime. I explained the concept to my 8 year old boy and he was happy to chill out and listen and try it out. A really lovely way to bond with him before sleep time and I look forward to doing more and it becoming a normal bedtime routine. It was relaxing and enjoyable for me too and left me feeling warm and happy.
It was a wonderful experience for my son. He could really relate to the pirate theme. He was happily fast asleep by the end of the story. Thank you for such a fun way to get my son off to sleep.
Our daughter loves them and asks for them excitedly at bedtime. They have her asleep so quickly. Really helping with a clingy to me phase, now either or her Dad can easily get her to sleep. Such beautiful stories and relaxation techniques 🩷
My wife is normally the one that my kids want at bedtime, and with my boy, I normally have to stay with him for a long time to make sure he falls asleep. But not only were the kids excited to show me the story they wanted me to read, when I went to lie next to my boy to help him fall asleep, he already was!
Game changer!
My 3 year old son always picks this one or the pirate one - and is always asleep before the story is finished! Before we started I would have to tackle him to stay still and think up games like 'Guess what I'm drawing on your back' to try and get him to stay still long enough to fall asleep. These have made bedtime so much easier.
As a nana it’s always special reading to my grandies but these Medtime stories are a league above! The guidance on how to set the scene, how to read and breathe are excellent . My 3 1/2 year old was out half way through the story. The story is fanciful and really appealing to the imagination.. Fabulous writing style . Def keen for more!
I read this story to my 6 year old son last night and in a sleepy state he said “I like that story you read, it’s so gentle on my body, it makes me feel good”. It sounds like something from a cheesy fake review but it’s genuinely what he said!
I was skeptical about trying Medtime as my family and me have never done meditation or anything like it before. I am so glad we gave it a go! Before using Medtime stories, bedtime was not always easy. I have two boys, ages 6 and 3.5 years old and they’ve never been excited about going to bed. They are generally good sleepers and bedtime isn’t a battle but it’s far from seamless. Our biggest issue has been winding down and being ready for sleep - ‘switching off’. Our 6 year old would sometimes be awake for over and hour after bedtime before he would fall asleep and our 3.5yo just loved to push the boundaries with needing another cuddle, the toilet etc (I think he also gets FOMO). Medtime has changed everything about bedtime - the boys want to go to bed, they are excited to hear the stories and the time together feels really special. The stories had an immediate result with my 6 year old, he was asleep within 2 minutes of finishing the story. The next night he asked if he could go to bed (before his usual bedtime) and have the same story. He was really engaged with the somatic exercises and each night has had the same result - asleep within minutes. We have just read the Fairies and the Moon Party story and I asked Joe how he felt afterwards and he said he “felt like he was in the middle of so much love” (I have never heard him talk about being surrounded or ‘in’ a feeling). With my 3.5yo it has had much the same result - falling asleep more quickly and far less restless, I just found I needed to practice the breathing and stretches with him earlier in the day. Thanks Medtime, this has changed up our nights for the best and I don’t think the benefit of connection can be emphasised enough, it’s been special for me too!
I couldn't believe it the first time I read this to my child. I got 3/4 of the way through and we was asleep. Out like a light. Absolutely awesome. So truly delighted with the impact Medtime is having on our bedtime routine. I am totally sold on these stories and really look forward to reading them each night to my children. The lifelong skills they are learning through doing this, of relaxing their bodies and mind, is wonderful to see. Many thanks Medtime for making bedtime an absolute pleasure.
Amazing!!! My 5 year old really enjoys our new bedtime routine and falls asleep peacefully. The guidelines around how to read etc are easy and help make the experience truly special. The story topics are very cool! Would highly recommend giving mealtime a go.
We regularly use guided audio meditations as a bedtime tool and find them great. However as a mum I do feel guilty relying on my device to help my girls get sleep, yet I struggle to come up with my own different ones on the spot.
Having a script to read from was super helpful and my girls (4 and 7) loved the stories, excited to read another one each night. The somatic exercises are brilliant for releasing the last of the restless wiggles. If they aren’t asleep by the end they are super relaxed and happy for me to say goodnight and leave. I feel connected rather than guilty, we are all relaxed and happy after some easy but quality time together to end the day and all in less than 5 minutes! Highly recommend.
